Magazine Photo Booth Rental in Chicago: AKIRA's Permanent Edition at Water Tower Place
Most magazine booths go home at the end of the night. This one stayed. After renting the format, AKIRA asked Chicago Flower Wall to design and build a permanent magazine booth installation for its Water Tower Place location in Chicago — a black-framed box with a deep red cover panel that now lives on the sales floor, between the clothing tables and the mannequins.

Read the Cover
The panel is typeset like a real issue. Across the top, the masthead reads AKIRA in tall white letters. Under it: "Water Tower Place Edition, Volume 24." Down the left side runs the cover line — "Chicago Looks Good On You" — and along the bottom, a white line-drawing of the downtown skyline unrolls from tower to tower. The interior is lit from the top of the frame, so a shopper stepping in is lit the way a cover subject should be.
Nothing on the panel is generic. The edition names the mall, the cover line names the city, and the skyline is this city's. A customer photographing herself in the box is not posing in front of an ad for the store; she is standing inside the store's own magazine, with the Chicago skyline at her feet.
From Rental Night to Retail Fixture
The caption tells the arc plainly: the store "loved our magazine box so much" that a one-event rental became a design-and-build commission. That is a different job from a rental. A rental panel is printed for a date and a couple or a campaign; a permanent installation has to survive daily retail life, match the store's interior, and keep earning its floor space on ordinary Tuesdays, not just event nights.
It earns it the same way the rental version does — by being the most photographable object in the room. Shoppers generate the pictures, the pictures carry the store's name, and the box never needs an attendant or a printer to keep working. The rental format that brands book for a night is detailed on the magazine photo booth rental in Chicago page, and the corporate and retail side of the work sits under brand activation photo booth rentals in Chicago.
The foreground of the photograph tells you how completely the box has been absorbed into the store. A gold display table stands directly in front of it, laid out with folded brown garments and two glittering clutch bags; to the right, a mannequin in a pink floral dress poses with a hand on her hip, nearly upstaging the booth she is standing beside. The magazine box is not roped off or presented as a promotion. It is merchandised around, the way a store arranges itself around any fixture it expects to keep.
A Milestone the Caption Doesn't Undersell
Chicago Flower Wall's post calls the installation "a milestone we're incredibly proud of," and thanks the AKIRA team for trusting the company with the project. Water Tower Place is one of the Magnificent Mile's landmark malls; a handcrafted piece from a Hickory Hills rental company holding a permanent spot inside it is exactly the kind of fact a small business is allowed to say twice.
