The Lake Does Most of the Decorating

A single red runner crosses the grass, and tall glass cylinders with white candles inside mark its edges in pairs — in daylight the candles are sculpture rather than light, clear columns that catch the sun and draw a corridor through an otherwise open lawn. There is no gate, no signage, and no second structure; a guest being led across this part of the lakefront would understand the destination long before reaching it, which is the point of an aisle outdoors, where nothing else tells a person where to walk.
