Marquee Letter Rental in Chicago: A Paris Daddy-Daughter Dance at Queen of All Saints School
Chicago Flower Wall rents illuminated marquee letters and balloon garlands for school dances, galas and celebrations across Chicagoland. The stage in this post was styled by our sister company, The Pretty Party Boutique, for a Paris-themed daddy-daughter dance at Queen of All Saints School in Chicago: giant lit letters spelling PARIS, a white Eiffel Tower standing in for the A, and garlands in pink, blush and pearl draped over the letters. Chicago Flower Wall rents the same marquee letters and themed garlands for school events and parties throughout Chicago.
The Setup: A Gym Stage Dressed for Paris
A school gymnasium announces itself in this photograph — polished wood court floor in the foreground, a basketball hoop hanging at the top right, a stone arch and a small crucifix above the stage curtain. Against that everyday backdrop, the Boutique built a single wide stage picture. A black curtain closes off the stage, and in front of it the word PARIS stands at stage height in illuminated marquee letters, each letter a white, bulb-lined capital tall enough to read from the back of the gym. In front of the stage, one folding table wears a black-and-white striped cloth — the café-stripe note that turns a gym floor into a Paris street scene for an evening.
The caption is brief and names the occasion exactly: "Today's set up was a Paris Themed Daddy/Daughter Dance," with a thank-you to Queen Of All Saints School for having the Boutique. The hashtags file it under daddy-daughter dances, marquee rentals and balloon garlands in Chicago. For a school dance, the stage is the photograph — fathers and daughters pose in front of it all night — and a marquee letter and balloon garland backdrop rental sized to a stage gives a gym-sized room a focal point that a table decoration cannot.
The Letters: PARIS, With a Tower Standing in for the A
The word is built from four marquee letters and one substitution. P, R, I and S are standard illuminated capitals, their bulbs lit warm against the black curtain. Where the A belongs, the Boutique stood a white wireframe model of the Eiffel Tower, its lattice silhouette the same height as the letters around it. The substitution is the whole theme in one move: guests read PARIS instantly, and the missing letter is the landmark. The caption's hashtags underline it — #eiffletower sits alongside #paristhemedparty — and the tower gives the stage a center that a fifth letter would not.
Marquee letters earn their keep at a dance for a practical reason as well. They are lit from within, so they photograph as glowing shapes in a dimmed gym where a printed banner would go flat and dark. They also scale: four letters and a tower fill a school stage, while the same rental family spells a name, initials or an age at a smaller party. Hosts who want the soft version of the same stage picture can pair letters with a flower wall backdrop rental behind them, trading the black curtain for petals.
The Balloons: Pink Garlands Over the Letters, Bows Along the Stage
The balloon work runs in garlands across the tops of the letters, heaviest over the P on the left and the S on the right, with a lighter crown over the R and I. The palette is pink in several depths — a bright pink for the largest orbs, a softer blush for the medium rounds — broken up with white and with clusters of small pearl balloons that read as silver in the stage light. The mixed sizing is the same organic construction as a garland on an arch panel, but here it is draped over three-dimensional letters, spilling down their sides and pooling at the stage floor at both ends.
A second balloon element runs the width of the stage below the letters: a row of metallic rose-pink bow foil balloons fixed along the white stage front, bow after bow at even intervals. Bows are the dance's other motif — the caption punctuates the announcement with a bow emoji — and the foil row ties the stage edge, which is the part of the picture closest to the dancers, into the theme. Together the two elements frame the photograph top and bottom: garlands crowning the letters, bows lining the stage, and the striped table centered in front. A participatory station can join the same stage — a flower bar cart rental lets daughters build small bouquets in the garland's pinks — but at this dance the stage itself was the attraction, and the photograph shows it empty and ready before the first guests arrived.
Who Styled the Queen of All Saints Stage — and Who Rents It
The Pretty Party Boutique styled this Paris stage at Queen of All Saints School and posted it on March 8, 2025, thanking the school in the caption. The Boutique and Chicago Flower Wall are sister companies, which is why this Boutique styling job is documented on the Flower Wall blog. Illuminated marquee letters, word-building with themed props and organic garlands in custom palettes are core Chicago Flower Wall rentals for school dances, fundraisers and celebrations across Chicagoland. For a complete school-event production the Boutique is the door; for the letters and garlands on their own, the quote starts with Chicago Flower Wall.

Frequently Asked Questions
What do the marquee letters on the stage spell?
They spell PARIS — with a white wireframe Eiffel Tower model standing in place of the letter A, at the same height as the illuminated P, R, I and S around it.
What colors are the balloons?
The garlands over the letters are bright pink, blush pink and white with clusters of small pearl balloons. A separate row of metallic rose-pink bow foil balloons runs along the white stage front below the letters.
What kind of event was this?
A Paris-themed daddy-daughter dance, per the caption, which thanks Queen Of All Saints School for hosting the Boutique. The photograph shows the school's gymnasium stage before the dance.
Why use marquee letters in a gymnasium?
The letters are lit from within, so they read and photograph as glowing shapes in a dimmed gym, and at stage height they give a large room one clear photo backdrop for the whole event.
