Boxwood Hedge Wall Rental in Chicago: The HCP Holiday Gala Wall
For Health Care Plus's holiday gala, this boxwood hedge wall rental in Chicago ran a double-width green wall across a hotel ballroom, lettered "HCP GALA" in wood at its center and framed on three sides by a 32-foot balloon garland in black, white, and chrome silver. Chicago Flower Wall posted the photograph on December 21, 2024 — a corporate holiday backdrop built to be read from the back of a ballroom and to hold a company name the way a step-and-repeat does, only greener.
Why a Gala Wants Green, Not Flowers
A hedge wall is the neutral member of the backdrop family. It carries no color of its own beyond green, so it accepts whatever palette the event brings — here, a strictly black-tie scheme of black, white, and silver that a floral wall would have fought for attention. The greenery also photographs as texture rather than pattern, which is why corporate clients keep choosing it for lettered backdrops: the wooden HCP GALA sign sits on a surface that never competes with the lettering, and two oversized white flowers mounted beside the name are the only softness the wall allows itself.
Double width is the other decision in this build. A single-width hedge wall suits a photo line; a double wall becomes room architecture, wide enough to anchor the end of a ballroom and to take group photographs six or eight people across. The caption specifies the double boxwood wall, and the photograph shows why the gala needed it — the garland's frame, the sign, and the presentation all scale to the wider canvas.
The Garland Is the Frame, the Uplights Are the Finish
Thirty-two feet of balloons sounds like a separate decoration until you see the geometry: the garland runs the top edge and drops down both sides, drawing a complete proscenium around the green. Black balloons give it weight at the corners, chrome silver catches the ballroom light, and white keeps it festive rather than funereal. It is doing the job molding does on a picture — telling every guest exactly where the photograph happens.
At the wall's base, two small uplights wash the lower green in a teal glow, a detail easy to miss in the photograph and impossible to miss in the room. Uplighting lifts a hedge wall off the floor visually, separates it from the carpet, and gives evening photographs a lit foreground. The wider setup, per the caption, finished the tables with white rose centerpieces the client asked to keep simple and elegant — restraint on the tables because the wall was carrying the room. Planners weighing a floral statement instead can compare this build against a flower wall backdrop rental, which trades the hedge's neutrality for color.
Booking a Lettered Hedge Wall for a Company Event
The original post hashtags the venue only as a Loews hotel, and the ballroom in the photograph carries no sign of which property it was — so this post names the client and the build, and leaves the hotel as the caption left it. What transfers to any company gala is the formula: a boxwood hedge wall sized to the room, a custom wooden sign with the company's name, a garland in the event's colors, and uplights at the base.
